I always refer to this holiday as Xmas, because I&#8217;m kind of hoping it will get Xed out soon.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>I was told I Had to get gifts for people. All I have are some cards and a gift for my <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Secret_Santa\" target=\"_blank\">secret Santa<\/a>. I don&#8217;t like this feeling that I Have to do it. This whole holiday is a marketing campaign covered in Mumbo Jumbo. It does wonders for the economy, but it causes so much stress. People will argue that it&#8217;s an excuse to get together and enjoy family and friends. I would counter that Thanksgiving does just that, without the religious overtones, and there&#8217;s not forced reciprocity demanding I spend the little money I have in exchange for gifts I most likely don&#8217;t want.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Do I feel bad about getting gifts and giving cards? Yes, but do I even have a choice? I can&#8217;t refuse their gifts, or they&#8217;d be angry at me. So this big fat sad Santa bear is my Xmas mascot! Maybe when I&#8217;m rich I can pass him off to some other poor bastard. <\/p>\n<p>The great thing about This new setup I have, is that you can comment on my posts.
