The Vampire Database

This database is being built using the Whitewolf Vampire RPG as the basis for it’s definitions of Vampire. For those of you unfamiliar with the setting, here are some basics of what Vampires are and are not in This context.

Caine (as in Caine and Abel) was the first vampire. He was cursed by God after he murdered his brother. Though this origin is often refuted, it is the generally accepted belief in this universe.
Vampires are damaged by the sun, severely so.
Vampires must drink blood to survive, or else they fall into an endless sleep. In general, a “hungry” (thirsty?) vampire will aggressively seek blood. Animal blood Will suffice, but Human blood is much “better.”
Crosses and other religious symbols do NOT, in general, harm Vampires. Similarly, garlic, running water and holy water have no effect. Now, with this in mind, SOME vampires have fallen prey to these effects based on one of two things: Either A) the vampire believed it would effect them, and thus through some weird placebo effect, it hurt them, or B) ther person who used the cross/holy water/etc, was of Such strong conviction, it had some power. But again, in general, these things do Not affect vampires.
Vampires get more powerful as they get older, mostly because they learn new things, same as Humans.
Vampires sleep during the day, but as they get more powerful may become less tired.
A single vampire bite does not Turn you into a vampire. The vampire must drain you of blood, then you must drink vampire blood.
Whether or not being a vampire makes you evil and subjects you to any “Hell” is debatable.
