One of the more common aspects of Web2.0 is collaboration. We as a group tag sites, share them, share photos. We have group drawing sites. I looked for a group writing site, and found sth like what I wanted, but not exactly.

So to that end I’ve created WikiStory. There are 2 versions of it, for 2 different wikis. THIS one (seedwiki) and THIS one (pbwiki). Pbwiki has a password, “wiki”. Feel free to add up to 3 lines to it. Chapter 1 will close in 3 weeks or if enough text is added. Enjoy!

I just switched webhosts from GoDaddy to LunarPages. Better, faster, stronger, CHEAPER. But there may be some site downtime.

In the meantime let me take a minute to explain some things.
A) If you like my pics thanx! Click on it and leave a comment on Flickr! If you want to Download and print it, click on it, click on All Sizes, and then Download.

B) Comments are not an answering machine. They are a place to comment on the topic at hand. Want to drop me a note? Email me. Want to talk about a picture? I prefer a flickr comment, though a quick comment in a post including the picture is acceptable. Mostly though just talk about what’s being talked about. (Note: This mostly applies to my family, who’s comments I am just modding out as personal notes. Though I appreciate the typo catches!)
Thanx!

1st of all, are they still calling it avian bird flu. Talk about redundant. George Carlin must be rolling in his grave.

2nd, my German flatmate Dennis has been dying of Bird flu for the past week now. We aren’t afraid of getting it from him but we Are tired of the coughing. So if someone would see fit to cure that disease, I’d be pretty happy.

On another note, I’m going ice skating, Terry Pratchet == lol, and That is an Oxford comma… I think.

Well I got the site back up… just need to dust off a few details.

Maybe a sunset would be more representative of that, but I’m not a happy camper, so Sunset it is!

When I submitted this photo to a the ScoreMe Flickr group, it got really high ratings. One member suggested I crop off some of the black bottom. I did, thinking it was a good idea, but that darkness at the bottom adds something, so I uncropped it in the end.

Hong Kong March 13, 2006

16 up, originally uploaded by AkumAPRIME.

Hong Kong is a Very different city from Taipei. It has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, it is FAR more ethnically diverse, which is a beautiful thing. The hostel I lived in had many Africans, mainly from Nigeria, and Indians. On the other hand, HK is FAR more expensive. Hong Kong had no scooters, but WAY more smokers. The MTR(subway) was slightly better in my opinion, based on little things like a closed rail and a lighting map system in each car.

I spent my first night dreadfully bored. I read all day long, then expected to find sth fun to do… no such luck. I played in an arcade. The 2nd day, I went to the Aroma walk and the Peak. The 3rd evening I went to Lan Kwai Fong, where Hong Kong becomes America… or Europe… basically bar land filled with Westerners. I spent my time photographing the local graffiti. The last day, I made a friend and went sight seeing. Pretty uneventful. All in all I feel like I spent 4 days reading and walking… I walked ALOT… up mountains…

On the way to HongKong, or, yeah I broke it… March 9, 2006

I’m packing for Hong Kong! YOSH!!! I leave at 4:30… but in an attempt to get this site to be frameless, I broke something… and I’m not quite sure what…

I used index.htm as my frameset, but now that is deleted, so why does the site still look for 3 files to frame? And why is my .htaccess file not being used? I guess GoDaddy.com doesn’t allow that but… damn I have to take the time to switch webhosts at some point… Anyway, please tolerate my brokeness for the time being.

ok, not sure why the google video isn’t embedding, so HERE‘s (and HERE) the link to the video. I’ve been fooling around with some new flash content and themes, so eventually this hodgepodge of color will become perty (that pERty!)

Once upon a time… March 2, 2006

On the train, coming back from Ilan, a woman sitting next to me struck up a conversation. Her name is Savia and she wanted to practice her english, so we exchanged contact info. After a few days IMing, we planned to have dinner. We decided to meet at gate 2 of an irrelevant MRT station.

I was worried, as I went to meet her, that I wouldn’t recognize her. After all I had only seen her on the train for a bit, and my memory is not great. Luckily, when I got there, there was a woman waiting and looking at me, so my fears were alleviated. As we walked we talked about various things. She seemed shorter than I thought, but since we were sitting on the train, I dismissed that thought. We were talking about my phone problem (which I hope to give you good news about and fully explain soon enough) when she got a phone call. She asked me where my phone was and I said, at the store…

Her english was pretty good, considering she had said it was poor on the train. Maybe she was nervous. As we walked, her phone rang again. She showed me her phone and the display said “MATU.” She asked, ” Do you know who this is?”

Laughing, I said, ” No” and wondered why I would know who was calling on her phone.

We sat down to dinner and when our food came, she got a third call and answered. Then she looked at me and said, ” Who ARE you?”

lol, ” I’m Evan, aren’t you Savia?”

” No, I’m Berry!”

At this point everything becomes clear. Why she seemed shorter, looked differentish, spoken english better, asked me strange questions and kept looking confused.

” Don’t you know who you’re meeting? I mean, haven’t you seen his picture?”

” Yes but from far away.”

At this point we both had to split and meet our Real dates. The food had Just come to. I took mine to go, thinking that after 25 minutes, Savia would be long gone. I waited 5 minutes and started to head down to the MRT, when I heard “Ee Tien” (my chinese name). Luckily Savia wasn’t angry, and she was able to practice her english…

OMG was I embarassed. Note to self: Ask about identity if unclear!
