Loose Change: A+ February 11, 2006

This is a must see. Not because you have to believe or agree with it, but because it’s looking at what I see as blatantly questionable activity. Loose Change takes a look at the events of 9/11 and lays forth a very clear and organized argument for the idea that a crime was perpetrated by the American government against the American people and the world. Loose change can be downloaded via torrent HERE, FREE and LEGALLY. If you have any trouble downloading it, please let me know and I will help you get ahold of it.

The most telling bit of evidence I see is that the owner of the WTC7 building took out a 3.5 billion dollar insurance policy that specifically included acts of terrorism 6 weeks before 9/11. The most telling inconsistancy I have seen involves the attempt by sources of information to “prove” that the WTC7 building fell due to fire when I have VIDEO of the owner telling us it was “pulled” (demolished). Basically the powers that be have trouble keeping such a complex and involved lie consistant on every level to so many people, as would be expected.

When you see the movie, even if you don’t agree with all the points, there are so many numerous things that slap you in the face it become obvious our government is hiding something. What? and Why? Mail your congressman and demand an answer. Don’t forget your Senator!

At the end of Loose Change a question is asked. When will Americans DO something? Watch the video. Think about it. Give it to your friends and family. DO SOMETHING!

Great film that covers a tragic genocide. Africa has gone, and continues to go, through very rough times. Education about what happens in other places besides Jesusland is important. A damn sad movie, for a damn sad continent.

The acting was good, but it didn’t really end to me. Or maybe it never started. Good, and worth a watch, but did it tell us anything we didn’t already know?

My class 2, originally uploaded by AkumAPRIME.

Half my body is covered in mosquito bites. In today’s class alone I killed four as they tried to drink me or students.

I had to say goodbye to my class after just two days, which is sad, because they were a great class, and I didn’t get the full amount of time with them I should have.

I found out today that I will have to leave Taiwan earlier than I expected, on what’s referred to as a “Visa Run.” Basically, I can come into Taiwan an unlimited amount of times between now and 2010, but I can only stay 60 days per entry. So every 60 days, people have to pop in and out. So in mid March I will run down to Hong Kong for a weekend. Ultimately this sounds kick ass anyway.

It’s not so much that scooters are dangerous, as that driving with a thousand other scooterists is suicidal. Especially when they seem to think that they are all in a race with everyone else. But scooters are fun, and easy to ride (if you know how to ride a bike, whew)

After the whole Muslim cartoon controversy in Europe, I would’ve expected the American press release to back Europe, long time allies, in what is obviously a matter of freedom of speech and press. But it turns out THIS is what we had to say about it. I guess we are either trying to score some points with the Muslim community (in which case getting out of their countries might be more effective) or the existing government really has no idea what freedom is. For those of you who haven’t seen the cartoons, HERE they are. I’m sure there will be Jihad against me for linking to them.

The Muslim community needs to relax, stop burning stuff and declaring holy wars. The American people need to start getting their rights back, and looking more actively into their government. And people that ride scooters need to stop pulling right up next to me. Can I have an Inch of room please?

We are VERY MAD!!, originally uploaded by ChiaoX.

The people of Taiwan are not afraid of their police. I used to think it was a bad thing that Americans are scared of theirs, but now I realize that fear is not a bad thing. The random beatings and shooting by the LAPD show us that we better do what they say. Here, the police are pretty much ignored, but I promise that would change if they would shoot a person or two.

I saw two Mormons bike by me today as I walked back to my quarters. I hollered, “LDS?” That was my first mistake. They stopped and said yes, and began to proselytize, which I should have realized they would do. Maybe I did and wanted a diversion as I walked. Regardless, as they continued preaching at me, I said, “Let’s stop before someone gets offended.”

“Oh we won’t offend you.” (That was a weird response.)

“I know… I meant that I would offend you.” I considered them warned.

They began to talk at me about travel and the amazing world. I informed them I’m an atheist and I don’t have any evidence of a god, thus I don’t believe in one. The less talkative one insightfully added, “So you don’t have any evidence that there ISN’T one either.”

“True bu…” Before I could start explaining the scientific principle of Occam’s Razor, and keeping things as simple as possible, the first one interrupted, “So this is all from your own judgment then?”

“Yes of course, isn’t that all we have?”

He made a scoffing sound. “No…” Now it was my turn to interrupt.

“Brigham Young is your main leader?”

“No, Joseph Smith.”

“Right, Smith. So you would trust his judgment over your own?”

“Yes.” He said this in a way that made me feel ‘No’ was an impossible response; as if Yes had no negative counterpart or it wasn’t a member of a binary system.

Here I made what could be seen as my 2nd mistake. “Well that is what makes you F#$%ing retarded!”

“WHOA HEY WHOA HEYHEYWHOA SIR. That language is not appreciated.”

I interrupt again. “I warned you I’d offend you.”

“You didn’t offend us.” (I didn’t?)

I chose to finalize things. “If you choose to continue this conversation, I will choose to use whatever language I prefer.”

And with that they biked off to try and ensnare some other poor bastards. The point of this story relates back to a conversation my family started to have during a dinner before I left the states. It involved religious belief about what happened after death.

A) This topic shouldn’t have been brought up, as the rule about politics and religion exists for a good reason.

B) I found out my step-father stands pretty far from the Judeo-Christian mythology.

C) It bothers me that people accept things without evidence, then use, “Well you can’t prove it’s NOT right” as a reason to keep believing it.

Let me state this clearly. There are an infinite number of explanations we can accept about Life, the Universe and Everything. The problem is that since all explanations are effectively equally acceptable, what allows one to logically accept one over the other? Occam’s Razor demands we take the simplest explanation and science demands we accept nothing without evidence. In terms of simplicity, there is little choice. What is more simple: to accept none of the non-evidenced explanations, or to accept an infinity of them? In terms of evidence, there is NO scientific evidence for ANY super powerful beings. I mean spit in your eye, slap you on the ass, There’s GOD standing there, evidence.

Whew, long post, probably should delete it now, but I won’t.

A-
The acting was great, the story was great. I found the accents and style to be authentic; I was left with the taste of the south and cowboy in my mouth… :/ The way the first sex scene occurred was unrealistic to me, but other than that I was happy with the story line. I thought about homosexuality amongst any given population, and came to the conclusion that it must have happened in every society, so the argument, ” There were no gay cowboys” seems to be more of a macho hope than a reality.

I am left with 3 questions. DON’T READ IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE!!! SPOILER ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Did the bearded husband of the talkative wife proposition Jack when he offered to go to the ranch with him?

To answer my own questions after discussion with people: YES.

2) Was the talkative wife the one that Jack was having an affair with?

No, when he said the foreman’s wife, he meant the bearded foreman.

3) Was Jack murdered because he was found to be gay, or because he was found to be cheating?

Well it turns out that he might not have been murdered at all. The STORY ( go to this site to read the story: http://www.angelfire.com/psy/kittythehitwoman/Brokeback_Mountain_by_Annie_Proulx.doc) itself is even more ambiguous than the movie. The cause of Jack’s death is left vague. Personally I think he was murdered, but there’s the implication that the murder sequence (which doesn’t exist in the story) is simple Ennis’ fears visualizing. But I don’t buy that Jack died of a blown tire explosion.

Let me know what you think!
