The blue sky, sun shine, green plant life… The food here is so much more damn Expensive… omg… But I am seeing friends and family. Life is good but… I Still don’t know wtf to do. I have some things to deal with like the car accident from Jan 1st and graduation. So I hope to take care of that this morning..

The DaVinci Code: Movie and Book May 20, 2006
Posted by AkumAPRIME in : Books,Life,Movies , add a commentI held off on a criticism of the Retardedly popular book until I could see it’s more visual incarnation. That’s taken care of so… here goes!
SPOILERS AHEAD!!! DO NOT READ ON IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE/READ THE BOOK!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Over all the book and movie were good, but they both shared one thing that drove me Nuts. Teabing, or whatever, the old guess-he’s-the-baddie-early-on guy, kills his partner, and reunites with our heroes. Rather than say, ” OMG guys I totally escaped and we, like, gotta hurry and get out of here and like, open this cryptex and stuff” he admits his villainy and relies on their need for Truth to bring them to his side… This makes him suddenly stupid, which he wasn’t for the rest of the book. He relies on wits and treachery the Whole book to exact his plan, but suddenly he decides to just tell the Truth? That’s some old TV Batman villain bullshit, and it’s inexcusable.
Of course the movie was shitty compared to the book, leaving out details and adding things in for the sake of time. But it got it’s message across.
As a side note: I’m Really happy there was no “This is a work of fiction” message preluding the picture. That is just useless. Must we then add that to Every movie we see? blah blah blah, etc etc etc

Posted by AkumAPRIME in : Life , add a commentA typhoon in the ocean southwest of TW has brought a riDiculous amount of rain to Taipei. My last week here is doomed to be rather wet. Oh well 🙁 I would like to visit two more touristy spots before I go, so hopefully Tien Kong can work on drying things up a bit for me (nudge nudge wink wink).
Japanese whaling and Japanese people as a case study in misinformation, and Skype as a research source May 16, 2006
Posted by AkumAPRIME in : Life,News,Philosophy , add a commentI read alot of news. I am brimming with information. The only problem is that news is littered with propaganda, and thus, I may be overdosed on misinformation. So how do I determine the veracity of a news article? Well just as an experiment I did the following:
Recently I’ve been bothered by reports of Japanese whaling. Japan is accused of stockpiling Tons of whale meet under the false pretense of “scientific research” then using whale meet in dog food. Further more, it is attempting to add whale meat to school lunch programs to foster a taste for the meat. It is accused of buying the votes of small countries in the International Whaling Commission in order to make voting secret, in order to further its agenda of increased whaling world wide. Feel free to
I spent an hour writing, and my damn article got cut in fourth… IDK if I’ll rewrite it… Maybe I’ll synopsize later… damn that’s annoying.
Stupidity makes me angry
Posted by AkumAPRIME in : Life , 1 comment so farMy own more so than anyone else’s, but in this case it’s my landlord’s that’s gotten me all pissed. Now this describes what I see as a stupid mistake, and in no way means my landlord is a stupid person. In fact, as I’ll point out again later, perhaps I’ve stupidly missed sth here.
My room is small. It’s hot. I don’t mind my room so much, but I would gladly upgrade. A couple weeks ago, one of my flatmates moved out. The landlord installed AC in the room, which also happens to be bigger than mine. So I asked, for my last 1.5 weeks here, if I could have the room. I would pay a prorated amount; she’d have money, I’d have a better room With AC!!! The answer was no, she needed a 3 month minimum. Well of course, I wasn’t going to pay 3 months rent for 1.5 weeks, we didn’t share a language, and my poor flatmate Ryan, who we’d woken to translate, didn’t seem happy; so I gave up, deciding not to press the issue. Besides, I thought, perhaps she has a tenant coming tomorrow or sth. Well of course, there is Still no one in that room.
So, am I angry that I’m in a small room, and hot as hell? Yes. But I’m MORE angry that she would turn down profit for a reason I can’t understand. So perhaps I’m the stupid one, but can ANYONE offer me a good reason why she would prefer an empty room over an occupied one? Really, I need you to validate this.
Flying cockroaches May 15, 2006
Posted by AkumAPRIME in : Life , add a commentI saw a flying bug and I thought, man that’s a strange butterfly… no wait… is that a dragonfly? It must be hurt…
Then it landed, and suddenly there was a cockroach! A flying cockroach, Proof that evil exists. It’s on par with swimming ticks and teleporting fleas. Next thing they’ll be evolving tentacles and telekinesis.
I WIN, YOSH!!!

Hey, someone in Kansas keeps checking my site out. Who ARE you? Email me or sth, I don’t think I know a single person in Kansas, except fot Dorothy of course, but she’s hardly ever home, and doesn’t use the internet anyway.
So after 3 months of living here, I stumbled upon a pool AND a pull up bar in MuZha park. So my last week here will be spent swimming and reading and saying goodbye. I suppose I’ll have to buy a rice cooker when I get home. 5 years of rice with Yun, and a half year of rice here… I’m pretty sure it’s become an essential part of my metabolism.
Locked out…. Lost… the Office… Dane Cook…
